Ground Mat for Spill Berm
If rough or rocky ground is a
concern, use a ground mat underneath your berm to help prevent puncturing the
membrane. Spongy geotextile material is sandwiched between two layers of water
resistant polyethylene. This mat will help cushion the berm from any sharp edges
on the ground that might otherwise puncture the containment unit.
Berm Tire Tracks
Add extra puncture protection for
your spill berm from rocks that might be stuck in the vehicle tires. Lay two
strips of this 3' wide rubbery material down as a track for the vehicle to
drive on. This will also help displace the weight of the vehicle over a larger
area, thus reducing the chance of a puncture on your berm from below. Track mats
run the length of the berm plus 1' in each direction so vehicles only make
contact with the mats.
