Pond Treatment

Interstate Products Inc. now carries BARACLEAR™ P80. It is not a herbicide, algaecide or copper treatment. A new patent pending water treatment to selectively remove Phosphate from water. It removes Phosphate where most of it resides-At the bottom of your pond.

A time released Phosphate Removal Treatment that removes Phosphate a nutrient of many aquatic plants.

How much is needed to treat a pond?

▪   Determine the dimensions of the pond (length, width or radius).
▪   Obtain the average depth of the pond.
▪   Determine the Phosphate concentration in the water by:

1. Test the water yourself (if you have a sensitive test kit), or
2. Send a water sample to an outside lab, or
3. Send a water sample to M² Polymer Technologies or one of our authorized distributors.

Based on the dimensions, depth and Phosphate concentration, we can calculate the required dose.

How often do I need to treat the pond?
It depends on several factors including the original Phosphate content of the pond, fertilizer run-off into the pond, animal waste (ducks, geese, etc…).

Generally, during the warmer months, treatment every 4 to 8 weeks is recommended.
 

How do you apply it to the pond?
The pellets should be (roughly) uniformly distributed across the pond for maximum effectiveness. This can be done by:

▪   Hand application using a scoop (for very small ponds).
▪   Throw from shore using a scoop.
▪   Boat spreader.
▪   Shore-based pellet applicator.
 

Will it interfere with other pond treatment products?
BARACLEAR™ P80 is NOT a herbicide, algaecide or copper treatment.
BARACLEAR™ P80 will not interfere with commonly used algae or herbicide treatments.
It is recommended that pond owners use a commonly accepted treatment: See weed killer to remove any established aquatic plant growth from the pond before beginning the BARACLEAR™ P80 treatment. Such treatments can also be applied after using BARACLEAR™ P80.

How is it packaged?
The product comes in 50 lb. pail

How cost effective is the  product?
Many other treatments products are applied every 1 or 2 weeks. This adds both material cost as well as labor costs.
Depending on the current treatments, This will generally reduce your seasonal treatment costs by 15-30%!!!
