(Motor Oil / Water)
Test Objective: To determine how much oil is removed from flowing water by the pillow used in the Ultra-DrainGuards Oil and Sediment model (Rubber Particulate Pillow)
Test Description: A stormwater drain mock-up was made and placed inside of a large sump filled with water and motor oil. An Oil and Sediment Model Ultra-DrainGuard was placed in the mock up. A recirculating pump simulated oily stormwater runoff through the DrainGuard for a period of 24 hours. The DrainGuard was then hung up and allowed to air dry for a period of 96 hours prior to any weights or measurements.
Test Results:
Pillow of rubber particulate (dry) ... ..................................................... 262.0 g
DrainGuard without pillow (dry) . .410.8 g.
Pillow (after 24 hrs. of simulated oily runoff and 96 hrs. of drying time).......552.4 g.

Conclusion: The current rubber particulate pillow has the capacity to remove up to 598.5 g. of oil from stormwater runoff in a 24 hour period.
